As many of you know, I do custom website design free for bands and musicians with their hosting purchase. You’d think I’d have bands upon bands and artists upon artists clawing down my door for the opportunity! WRONG.
Maybe it’s the word free. Free ringtones, free this, free that, and we all know that’s not all free, and if it is they give you a taste and then pound you with charge after charge. So needless to say, no…not everyone is signing up, and probably because they see the word free as no longer something that is really..well…free. But, it is. I do $750 website design work free, yes free, for artists and musicians… They do have to pay for hosting, but that’s whether I charge them $750 or not…see how that works?

So if anyone out there knows how to spread the word about this on a level that makes people more comftorable with the word free, you’re input would be appreciated!

It’s that most wonderful time of the year when we start hunting through 2007’s reciepts and tally up our income for the year. Oh ya, tax time baby! As a self employed individual, it’s alot harder to do than the normal “here’s my w-2 now give me my money”… Today I’ll be working on that, along with catchin up on all my clients problems, updates, and designs…Even plan on finishing up a few today. But, tax time calls, and although I can easily send off my information to a good ol’ tax man/woman to take care of my finances, I’d rather bask in the tylonal bliss and accomplish this task on my own. According to the website, “I got people”. So i’m not too scared…lol

The birds are chirping, the sky is clear and beautiful…and the love of my life? Well, she’s sleeping. That’s right, knocked out. I’m not one for Valentines day. As I’m sure there may be some in-depth meaning to it all, it’s a Hallmark obligation. I told my significant other not to get me anything. I prefer those unannounced with no obligation tokens of love, rather than a day that forces you to proclaim it. Call me crazy, I guess spontaneity is more attractive to me.

On July 1, 2006, I made a move from Riverside, CA to Lafayette, LA. Needless to say, it’s been almost 2 years, and the culture shock has yet to wear off. I’m not planning on it wearing off anytime soon, however, so instead I enjoy the awe of how different this society is, and continued to be floored by the operations of the South.

It’s different in a small town, and although I struggle sometimes to find my place, my uptown clients that I deal with on a daily basis, silently remind me how this quiet town is exactly where I should be.

I’m 27. A freelance website designer working from my home office. And, I’m a california girl settling in a town in Southern Louisiana… Crawfish anyone?
